200 ::giveaway::

This is my 200th post.  My journey of blogging has been interesting to me.  First I resisted because I didn't want to put my life into the digital world.  I eventually gave in to the requests of loved ones far away that wished they could be involved in our lives a little more.  Then I realized the way it could document our lives like a journal.  And for me, updating our blog was a lot easier and more enjoyable than writing in a journal.  Soon I was using it to document my accomplishments as a photographer, hoping that my friends that followed my blog would like what they saw and let me use my talents to help them.  After a few months, Colby started to wish our family blog was more about our family so I started a separate one for my photography and tried to return the focus to my family on this blog.  Before long I started getting really excited about the way people were responding to my posts and the feedback I was getting.  Feedback on a blog is so addicting, at least it was for me and I started noticing that people were actually interested in what I was doing and what I had to say.

So here I am.  I blog because it is my version of keeping a journal.  And I blog because it allows me to connect with people about things that matter to me at the moment and get their feedback.  I love my blog now.  I love it so much that I thought I'd share the love with a giveaway!  I'm going to give you your very own copy of one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.
Flipped
It is one of the sweetest movies I've ever seen.  The whole movie switches between each perspective of a boy and girl that meet as kids and how their feelings about each other change and evolve over time.  I loved the message it shares, I love the simple love stories, and I love the way it makes you think and feel.  So I'm ready to wrap one up and send it to one lucky winner.

All you have to do in order to win is:
Leave a comment on this post.

Why?
Because comments on my blog are one of my favorite things.

What should you say?
Tell me about a time/topic/post/feeling when I blogged about something that you were able to relate to.
I would love to know who is reading this blog and why they keep coming back.

Do you want extra entries?
Mention it on Facebook or your own blog, then come back and tell me in a comment that you did so.

You have until April 8th.  That is one week from today.  Good luck to you!

  3. Since I am the first to comment I think I should win right??? RIGHT...
One of my favorite posts you did was your August 31 post "There are no words" I loved the picture you posted of the boys carrying their Grandpa's casket. It just really hit home and made me think about my parents. It made me be better at telling them how I feel and made me realize they are not going to be around forever. This kinda made me sad but I thought it was a beautiful post!!!

  4. Yes! First one gets it right? :) I have heard such good things about that movie! Anyways, I loved your post with the pictures of the flooding in Southern Utah. Living up here in Lehi makes me miss it down there so much and I felt like I was missing out on seeing all the damage or helping if I could and seeing your post made me feel like I got to experience it :)

  5. You are such a sweetheart Andrea! :) It was so good to see you at Tierra's reception!
One of my favorite things I love about your blog is that you put your personality into your writing. I can totally picture you saying everything that you write. I'm with you as well, I use my own personal blog for our family journal. Its been so fun to go back over what we've done with my family and have good laughs and let the memories come flooding back in. Thanks for sharing your family and photos with us!

  8. Listen. I need this win...let me give you all the reasons...
#1-one of the first comments you made on my blog was when I posted about my favorite movies & you told me that we had a similar taste in movies...so obviously I am going to like this one. Right?
#2 I recommend the book, "Flipped" to my students all the time...and no, I haven't read it-it would be really nice to know what the story is about...for real.
(even if I don't win, I should probably borrow your copy-I do feel like a hypocrite sometimes)
#3 I really like to win. Plus-when I saw that it was a give-away post, I went straight here because I thought it could be a photo-session of some kind...because I admire your work :) (does flattery work)
#4 This is the longest comment ever.

  10. how funny that like 4 different people thought they were the first to comment. :) and how do I compete with them? I don't. but I still wanted to say that I really liked your post about dropping Colby off at work on your trip home from Cali. sounds random, right? I guess it's because I love going places and I love being spontaneous because it doesn't happen a lot since kids came into the picture. so hearing about your last-minute decision to wait an extra day and then watching the progression of feeding the ducks was very real life, you know? I liked that the post wasn't about all the wonderful things you did on your trip, it was on the spontaneous duck feeding with daddy Colby and grandpa. small and simple things: the important stuff in life.

    that's all. :)

  12. I love this. What a fun idea! I love your posts on your house, and how your hubby tries to stop you from all the girly purchases. My husband is the same way and is afraid that our house is going to look like only women live in it. Haha

  14. I love reading your blog! Favorite post is rather sad, but Tyler's broken leg. It made me heart broken, but also let me know that when that day comes for me, which it will, life will be ok. Love your photos, and your amazing personality shown on your blog. Makes me miss Southern Utah. So many reasons to blog stock. Love your blog Andrea!

  15. Andrea, you are so fun and inspiring. You are very creative and keep your blog interesting. Some touching and inspiring posts were of the passing of Glen and Chase leaving on his mission. I enjoy all the fun about your boys, the gnome pictures were so funny. I also like your sense of style and adventure. Loved the post of your shoes and your fireplace predicament.
Keep up the good work! :)

  16. Andrea...I'm addicted to reading your comments
=0) The blog that I relate the most to...is probably the one where you couldn't find your chair in your bedroom because it was buried in all your clothes. I laughed so hard, but really I relate to a lot of your posts. You are amazing, keep up the good work!

  17. Andrea,

I love reading your blogs, becuase it makes me fill like I am part of your family. Being away with no family makes it hard for us, and reading your blogs to Jason and Gracie makes us fill close to you guys. I loved your blog when you did your most favorite things, and of course when you posted pictures of me and Gracie saying "Daddy had two beautiful girls waiting for him" You have such amazing talent, and your a great mother. I love you girl
