Embrace It

Let me tell you a little something about summer.  I've never been pregnant during the summer.  The last two times have both conveniently skipped over that entire part of the year.  I am, however, pretty excited to add a birthday to the calendar that is not during spring (I swear March/April is almost as expensive as Christmas for our family).  I was 100% thrilled with the whole situation until it got to be 90+ degrees outside in APRIL and I went on a search for maternity shorts that would come to the knee.  Did you know they are nearly impossible to find?  Lucky for me I was possessed to buy some last year (read all about that here) so I do have one pair.  I have checked every store in Southern Utah and various websites to no avail.  I don't really have long legs, but all of the bermuda shorts that are available online are an inch or two too short.  Darn.  So I have now committed myself to wearing skirts (yeah, I chase two little boys around in a city named for it's wind... those won't be the most convenient) and capris.  And even though capris are better than pants, every inch of clothing covering my body during summer makes a big difference.  While shopping at Forever 21 yesterday, I found these two darling pairs of sandals and decided I needed them both.  I am determined that these will make wearing capris rather than shorts 100% bearable during the months of 100+ degree weather.  These, and my new found excuses to wear swimsuits for a majority of the next four or five months.
Don't judge if you find me in that get-up, ok.

  1. try Lilac maternity clothing for shorts. They are online and also set up a booth in Costco often!

  2. Totally know how ur feeling right now! I am gonna wear skirts 24/7. But I did find some cute coral shorts from kohls last night, candies brand. And I also have one pair of lilac maternity shorts from costco last year. Looks like I will be doing a lot of shopping this time around. Good luck!

  3. I lucked out and found a couple pair at Ross the other day. The only bad part about shopping there is that you have to check back regularly because it's quite picked through... good luck!
